About Me
Hi, I'm Matthew Pesler, owner and director of Grand Welcome Indianapolis. I grew up near Dayton, Ohio, where I graduated from Wright State University with a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership. Since then, I've lived in several cities including Boston, Denver, Nashville, Cincinnati, and now proudly call Indianapolis home.
I started out in business management and later became co-owner of a successful insurance agency. My love for travel and hospitality ultimately led me to vacation rental management, where I've found a true passion for creating memorable guest experiences. I'm incredibly grateful to my family, who have always been my biggest supporters.
Over the past decade, I've built a personal short term rental portfolio of 30+ units and assembled a team that consistently goes above and beyond to deliver exceptional stays for both guests and homeowners across the Indianapolis area.

• Permit number must be displayed on all listings (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.)
• Designate a 24/7 local contact person
• Indiana state law (HB 1035 / IC 36-1-24) protects owner-occupied primary residences as a permitted use in any residential zone

Do I need to collect and remit taxes for vacation rentals in Indianapolis, Indiana?
Airbnb and VRBO are classified as marketplace facilitators under Indiana law and are required to collect and remit both the 7% Indiana state sales tax and the 10% Marion County Innkeeper's Tax (17% combined) on your behalf for bookings made through their platforms.
